the magic kingdom

This may not seem like Disney World to everyone, but Central Market in Dallas is like a wonderland to a food enthusiast. It's similar to Whole Foods or some other high end super market, but this truly is a SUPER market. The way it's laid out reminds me of Ikea, a maze of sorts through the different delectable food sections starting with fresh produce, then meat, wine and liquor, coffee, spices, nuts, chips and snacks, the bakery, and on and on....(sigh).

The cool part about Central Market is they literally have everything, every ingredient you could ever need for any recipe under the broiler. They also allow you to take your own amounts, weigh them yourself and print out a sticker to put on the bag. Like Whole Foods, Central Market has a cafe with an enormous selection of fantastically prepared foods to please any palate, not to mention cooking classes throughout the week. I have a feeling this will be a very regular destination in the future; although the prices and selections are on the more expensive side, it is a fun grocery shopping experience. Adding to that experience is the best part of all - SAMPLES! They had everything from fruit to cheese (next to the biggest wheel of cheese I have ever seen pictured above) to pasta sauce to olive oil, all delicious. How could you not love this place?!?
