de ja vu and salsa

It's such a strange feeling to be in a certain place once, then return several months later and it feels so familiar like you've never left. I have been feeling that way a lot recently after making several return trips around the country to previous destinations: Dallas, Virginia Beach, Washington DC, etc.

Tonight we went to Tortilla Coast, a Mexican restaurant a few blocks from the capitol building where Whitney and I dined once last summer. Walking in felt like it was yesterday. They have good food, nothing particularly memorable, but tasty and filling nonetheless. I was craving enchiladas and was hoping for something resembling those of Tortilla Marissa's back home, but I ended up getting a combo platter featuring three different variations of chicken rolled in a tortilla.

I also thought the neon light above was peculiar. Most times you see beer lights in restaurants or bars they tend to promote sports teams, but this one appears to be 100% behind the US Government - Go Americans!
